Hi, I'm Christine!
Iām a wife, mother, and educator who believes every child can learn and grow when given the right support. Iāve taught in the classroom, so I understand both the demands teachers face and the importance of adapting to each child.
Christine Lucio is a seasoned special education diagnostician who brings exceptional depth of knowledge and heart to special education consulting, built on nearly two decades of leadership and firsthand experience guiding students and families through every stage of the special education journey. With more than 17 years in education, including 12 years in Katy Independent School District (Katy, Texas) as an educational diagnostician and 5 years as an elementary teacher, Christine has a comprehensive understanding of special education assessment, compliance, and individualized support from early childhood through postsecondary transition.
Christineās distinguished career has spanned multiple grade levels as both an elementary and junior high diagnostician. She was selected to join the founding team that launched the special education program at a newly opened Katy ISD junior high and was later appointed by the principal to serve as department chair for two years during a pivotal leadership transition. Christine is frequently asked to mentor new diagnosticians and provide professional development for teachers, administrators, and other special education specialists, helping shape best practices and ensure legal compliance across the district.
In these roles, she has established and maintained exemplary evaluation processes, trained teachers and diagnosticians, and ensured rigorous adherence to Texas Education Agency regulations and federal guidelines on assessment, eligibility, and individualized education program (IEP) development. Christine has led more than 2,400 IEP meetings and conducted over 500 comprehensive individual evaluations, demonstrating deep expertise in special education procedures and student advocacy. She also has extensive experience supporting families and schools in navigating complex behavioral and academic challenges and facilitating smooth transitions to secondary school.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University and a Master of Education in Special Education, with a specialization in educational diagnostics, from Stephen F. Austin State University.
